Chris S., Oct. 2009: I love the Toy Garden! My wife and I are awaiting grand-kids, so we’re not yet heavy-duty toy consumers. However, we have a couple of long-distance friends with little ones, and we’ve found great stuff for them at the ‘Garden’. A few months back, we were looking to replace a stuffed monkey that had become the worn-out, bedraggled favorite toy of a four-year-old buddy of ours in Nashville. I despaired of finding the identical monkey (I’m not four, and they all seem pretty much the same to me!), but we went looking….. and one of the owners actually remembered which monkey we’d bought over a year before! We sent the ‘new’ monkey to the desperate mommy in Nashville, and the little boy who owns it just thought his had had a bath – you just can’t get better service than The Toy Garden!

Toy Garden is by far the very best toy store, at least on the west coast and probably even in the nation. They choose toys that are geared for quality, fun, imagination and empowerment... not only of children but of the adults who are looking for a toy that will make a difference! The employees of the toy garden are really committed to service!

3 reasons: 1) The TOYS: Every toy in the store is selected for its quality and wholesome goodness. Most every toy is made from natural (or at least - non-plastic like metal) materials like wood, wool and silk. There is little-to-no plastic (minimal packaging), toys are natural, beautiful, and invite the child to play, using their bodies and imaginations. When out-of-area relatives ask what my children want for gifts, I simply give them the ToyGarden's website and tell them to have fun shopping - there is no toy from there I wouldn't approve. They gift wrap too. 2) The PEOPLE: the staff are fantastic, warm and helpful. Children are welcome and even encouraged to "try out" toys. They have even researched and found certain hard-to-find toys upon request for me. There is always warm welcomeness at the ToyGarden. And 3) The SPACE - in beautiful historic Fairhaven, in a lovely brick building with lots of light and subtle yet brilliant decore. They also host craft workshops (e.g. needle felting) which I've never attended but have heard great reviews from my friends.
Shopping at the Toy Garden is an absolute delight for child and adult alike. (And this is coming from someone who generally does not like shopping!) The Fairhaven Toy Garden is far and away the best toy store I've ever visited
